Is It Magic or Is It Love

For many, magic deals with spells and incantations, sorcerers, wizards, druids, and witches. They see the fantastical, and not something which exists in today's day and age.
The dictionary defines magic in these ways: 1 a: the use of means (as charms or spells) believed to have supernatural power over natural forces b: magic rites or incantations 2 a: an extraordinary power or influence seemingly from a supernatural source b: something that seems to cast a spell: Enchantment 3: the art of producing illusions by sleight of hand. Therefore, it would seem even the dictionary defines magic as I initially described it. Interesting
The day the woman who would become my best friend, the love of my life, and eventually my wife walked into my life. That was one of the most magical days of my life. The day a picture of two wedding rings, initially sent as a tease, turned into a 4 hour conversation over the phone, even though we were thousands of miles apart, and became the first time we told each other, "I do." That was magical!
The evenings we spent together laughing, teasing, and talking about everything under the sun. When we sat on the couch, or on the bed, watching a silly movie, our bodies snuggled up close to one another because we can't stand not touching each other in one way or another. When we were just us, and the problems of the day faded away, leaving nothing but us, that was pure magic!
Then there are the days we packed up the car, chose a direction and simply drove until we found something that caught our attention. A day of spontaneous activity, without fear, without regret. The weekends we spent with our babies, laughing, playing in the park, watching them be children, seeing what works of art they came up with, or marveling at the words which flew from their mouths.those were magical moments.
As I've attempted to point out, magic isn't about weaving spells, summoning spirits, or placing curses. It is about those moments you remember fondly, the ones which will never leave you because of the effect they had on your very soul. Magic is all around us. It permeates our very beings, and it is tangible. One merely has to understand the meaning of real magic in order to properly observe it in action.

More commentsMagical! Great post...and it is very necessary in today's world of relationship breaks...ThanksThank you for thinking this was so good.
When I was in the military, a ventriloquist visited our base and hypnotized several Marines on stage. He said walk like a chicken and they did. The mimicked anything he told them to do including acting like they're were drunk. I'm not sure if it was all real. I am still puzzled to this day.I've heard mesmerizing is possible but I'm not willing to try it. Semper Fi.
I think Disney would agree with you... a company that has built the majority of its marketing campaign on the idea of making magic by sharing moments with loved ones. You seem to be a very happy family man... a lot of bad things could happen to you but as long as you have your family, I think you would still be pretty positive about life. This is a valuable quality to have. Thanks for again emphasizing the beauty of love and what it means. -BrombergThank you for the comment. Disney has its issues but spreading love isn't one of them.
Hooray for you! God bless you for writing this article. Yes, this is exactly what true magic is. It is the mystery of love! Nothing can replace it or compare to it. Especially when it comes to God's love for us in sending His only begotten Son Jesus to die on our behalf.Hey guy, thanks for coming by and leaving the comment. Appreciate it.
As a solo witch I totally support the idea that magic is in the lives that we lead and that spells and potions are simply rituals that help 'witches" create magic in their own lives. I love that you see your life and family the way you do - your wife and children are very lucky people and I consider myself lucky for reading your article. Thank you.Magic crackles in the air if we look for it. You must see a lot of it. Thanks for the compliments. I feel like blushing.
